New MicroSys Sales and Integration Partner in UK

Direct Insight helps British system designers exploit the benefits of MicroSys embedded system solutions

Munich, Germany, and Oxfordshire, UK, February 27, 2024 – Direct Insight, Ltd., has entered a partnership with MicroSys Electronics GmbH. The UK-based technical systems integrator and reseller of system-on-module (SoM) and other embedded systems extends its product range to include the easy to integrate and long term available embedded system solutions of this German system-on-module (SoM) and Single Board Computer (SBC) maker.

Using this application-ready technology, Direct Insight helps customers in the United Kingdom and Ireland improve the reliability of their system designs while also reducing development costs and time-to-market.

“MicroSys sees itself as a system provider; its focus is to help OEMs realize their product designs”, commented David Pashley, CEO of Direct Insight. “We are excited to offer our customers the MicroSys miriac® MPX module technology, which offers all the advantages of SoM-based designs.” These include application-ready core technology, faster time-to-market, high design reliability, lower NRE costs, and better-priced carrier boards thanks to less layers.”

miriac® application-ready SoMs are based on NXP® S32G and Layerscape processor technology. They support all processor-integrated features with a comprehensive, perfectly-matching, functionally-validated solution.

“We need technically competent application-focused design channels which are capable of supporting customers’ complex and evolving requirements”, said Ina Schindler, Managing Director at MicroSys. “Direct Insight has over 20 years of experience supporting markets in the UK, Ireland and further afield. This makes them the perfect partner for us. We are delighted to be working together.”

About MicroSys Electronics

MicroSys Electronics has been designing and developing embedded system solutions since 1975, is an NXP Gold Partner and widely integrates NXP’s S32 Automotive, Layerscape and QorIQ processor technology. Designs based on System-on-Modules (SoMs) are the strengths of this German company based in Sauerlach near Munich, with the portfolio ranging from application-ready SoMs and customer-specific carrier board designs to fully integrated systems. Application areas for these extremely rugged designs with long-term availability are primarily found in markets where safety standards in compliance with IEC 61508 are required, such as railway technology (EN 50155), aviation (DO-160), and mobile machinery (ISO 13849), as well as manufacturing robots (ISO 10218), control systems (IEC 62061), and drive systems (IEC 61800-5-2). Further application areas can be found in medical technology (60601), and in critical infrastructures like the nuclear sector (IEC 61513) or the process industry (IEC 61511). MicroSys works closely with its customers in all these industries to ensure that all of the specific applicable standards are fully met.
