MicroSys' Latest miriac® System on Module Supports NXP's QorIQ LS1028A for Industrial Applicationsv

MicroSys has designed a new CPU module based on NXP's latest QorIQ® Layerscape® processor, the LS1028A. This processor is targeted at industrial applications and the defining feature is support for IEEE 802.1 Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN).

In addition to TSN-enabled Ethernet networking, the other novel features of the LS1028A are an integrated 3D GPU with support for a 4K display and 2 CAN interfaces each supporting flexible data rate (CAN FD).

The other interfaces will be familiar to QorIQ® Layerscape® users: dual Arm® Cortex®-A72 cores running at up to 1333MHz, DDR4 running at 1.6GT/sec, PCI Express gen 3 running at 8GT/sec, dual USB3.0, SATA3.

The miriac MPX-LS1028A module, as is the case with all other members of the miriac MPX family, leads all processor I/O pins to the edge connector - meaning that the module does not limit the features of the processor in any way.

As usual, MicroSys also offers a starter kit consisting of the MPX-LS1028A module together with a carrier board with power supply and cabling. This SBC-LS1028A-TSN comes with a Linux 4.14 BSP which is regularly updated.
