MPX600

The MPX600 SoM is Intel® Atom™ processor based. The module is another member of a complete product family supporting the MicroSys miriac™ MPX-SoM-standard. It is a compatible upgrade to the MPX530 SoMs featuring the Intel Atom Z530 CPU, which offers additional I/O functions for embedded applications, e.g. a CAN-BUS-Interface.

The MPX600 SoM combines an E6xx Atom CPU with the Intel Platform Controller Hub EG20T. It integrates a range of common I/O blocks required in many typical deeply embedded market segments. This innovative functional combination allows small form factor and ultra low power Intel architecture based designs.

The Intel E6xx series CPUs offer the value of extensive integration and extreme power smarts for a wide variety of applications in the networking, telecom, defense and industrial markets. The E6xx processor/EG20T combination is the perfect fit for single core solutions with a dynamic frequency range of 0.6 GHz to 1.6 GHz along with advanced security and a rich set of interfaces. These include SATA, USB host and device, SD/SDIO/MMC, Gigabit Ethernet MAC, IEEE 1588 as well as general embedded interfaces such as CAN, SPI, I2C, UART and GPIO. The processor itself offers features like video (2D & 3D), SPI Flash, 4 x PCIe x1, the DDR2 memory interface as well as high definition audio support. One of the PCIe interfaces connects to the EG20T hub.

The physical dimensions of the MPX modules are 66 x 77 mm². The MicroSys standard includes the definition of the 2 x 208 pads to connect the SoMs to peripherals and system extensions. The innovative elastomeric connector technology offers an easy means to stack extension modules on the front and back side of the SoM. Rapid prototype designs can be done easily and turned into production systems fastly by that.

The MPX SoM-family features a rugged design with the aim to withstand extreme and harsh environments in embedded applications. In a custom specific avionics application the module is certified for DO-160 requirements.
