The CPU86 is a powerful general purpose 6U VMEbus CPU. It is based on the Freescale MPC8260 (PowerQUICCII) and offers both, high computing and excellent communication performance at very low power consumption rates. Four serial ports and two 100Mbit Ethernet ports are available. Many PowerQUICCII ports and the Local Bus are accessible on a piggyback slot, too. A DiscOnChip slot and a floppy disc port (option) allow the use of mass storage devices. The CPU86 disposes of a flexible boot mode: It boots either from a socketed EPROM or the 64bit flash area. Versions for the extended temperature range (-40°..+85°C) are available, too.
