DHC
The DHC brings a high performance x86 platform based on the Low Voltage Xeon™ processor to the VMEbus. The high speed E7500 chipset supports a PCI-X expansion bus that can fully utilize the two Gbps Ethernet ports available on the DHC with no data transfer bottleneck. The two 1000BaseTX ports, a VGA port, and two USB connectors are all accessible from the front panel. On-board CompactFlash permits single-slot booting. Conventional PC I/O is available with the rear I/O module and the second slot PMC expansion module permits I/O tailoring to users' application requirements.

The Intel® NetBurst™ microarchitecture with long 20- step instruction pipelines, a 400MHz system bus, and a unique clock-doubled arithmetic logic unit, called the Rapid Execution Engine, to enable outstanding performance and headroom for future scalability.
The Intel® Xeon™ processor family uses Hyper-Threading technology, where multiple threads of software applications can be run simultaneously on one processor. This is achieved by duplicating the architectural state on each processor, while sharing one set of processor execution resources. The architectural state tracks the flow of a program or thread, and the execution resources are the units on the processor that do the work: add, multiply, load, etc.
Hyper-Threading technology provides on-die multi-thread ing support for additional performance and scalability on multi-tasking operating systems and multi-threaded server applications.
- E7500 Chipset
System Bus bandwidth of 3.2GB/s (400MHz). Ultra ATA 100/66/33 IDE protocol.
Provides Hub Interface 2.0 for onboard P64H2 for dual Gb Ethernet support. Chipset includes DRAM controller, PCI bus arbitration logic and interface, high-performance PCI, USB interface, RTC, NV-RAM, standard PC timers, Ultra DMA, and interrupt logic.

Single-slot VMEbus operation with on-board CompactFlash disk for bootable mass storage and a low-profile heat sink.
- DRAM
144-bit wide, DDR-200, with a memory bandwidth of 3.2GB/s, populated with 512 MB or 1 GB Modules.
- VMEbus
Tundra Universe IID PCI-VMEbus interface provides 64-bit VMEbus transfer rates over 30 MB/sec FIFOs permit write-posting to maximize available PCI and VMEbus bandwidth.
Full Slot 1 (system controller) functions provided. Lower cost versions available without VMEbus.
- Graphics
Asiliant's 69030 graphics controller. 4 MB of SDRAM is built-in to the chip.
- Ethernet
One Intel 82546 single chip Ethernet controller supports two 10/100/1000BaseTX Ethernet ports accessible from the front panel
- IDE
Primary Ultra DMA IDE interface with improved transfer rates is accessible from the VMEbus P2 connector. PIO and bus master support.
Secondary IDE port is routed to a Type II compatible CompactFlash connector for on-board booting via flash-based and mechanical storage.
- BIOS
General Software's flash-based system BIOS, upgradeable via floppy. Customized versions can be provided.
- Watchdog
Programmable watchdog timer for system recovery

VGA, Dual USB, Dual 10/100/1000BaseTX port
- Rear I/O
IDE (routed through P2), LPC Interface runs through P2 so the rear plug-in module can produce standard PC I/O like COM1/2 (each selectable for RS-232/422/485), Floppy Disk controller, Mouse/Keyboard interface.
- PMC Expansion
A second slot module can support three PMC-X or regular PMC modules.
PMC site one maximum 133 MHz PMC-X capable. PMC sites two and three 100 MHz PMC-X capable. All three PMC sites compatible with standard PMC. PMC carrier card interfaces with the DHC via a header.
