CHC
The CHC brings a very high performance x86 platform processor to the CompactPCI bus. The high speed E7500 chipset supports a PCI-X expansion bus that can fully utilize the two Gbps Ethernet ports available on the CHC with no data transfer bottleneck. An SVGA port and two USB (supporting mouse and keyboard as well as other peripheral I/O) connectors are accessible from the front panel. Additional PC I/O and On-board CompactFlash - permitting single-slot booting - are available with the rear I/O module. The two 1000BaseTX ports are routed to the backplane in compliance with PICMG 2.16. These dual Gbps Ethernet are provided by Intel’s 82546 controller and its PCIX performance (64 bits @ 133 MHz) is enabled by Intel’s P64H2 controller hub. The CHC is a very versatile module. Optional versions can be used purely as PICMG 2.16 blades and/or as CompactPCI modules in peripheral or system slot modes of operation. The PLX PCI6254 Universal bridge permits this flexibility and it supports 64 bit wide PCI interfacing at 66 MHz on the backplane. Lower power, lower cost variations of the PICMG 2.16 compliant blade that leave off the P64H2 are also available.

ATI's Rage Mobility M1 graphics controller offers 8 MB of integrated SDRAM on-chip.
- Ethernet
Intel's 82546 Ethernet controller supports two 1000BaseTX ports for PICMG 2.16 backplane-based fabric switching. Optional 82546 on Rear I/O modules provides dual Gb Ethernet.
- IDE
Ultra DMA IDE interface with improved transfer rates is routed to the Rear I/O module: Primary port is accessible from a 40-pin header, Secondary IDE port is routed to a Type II compatible CompactFlash connector for on-board booting.

General Software's flash-based system BIOS. Customized versions can be provided.

Super I/O Chip provides: COM1 (DB-9), Floppy Disk Controller (34-pin header), PS/2 Mouse/Keyboard interface and LPT1 (DB-25).
- Blade Version
Lower cost, lower power version of the CHC is available without PCI bus interface for the backplane. On-board P64H2 and the PLX 6254 are removed and the dual 1 Gbps Ethernet Controller interfaces directly with the ICH3-S south bridge. Tailored to applications requiring PICMG 2.16 functionality without backplane PCI.
